Stefania Pastore - Italian Renaissance and Iberian Diasporas (1492-1630)

Stefania Pastore is Associate Professor of Early Modern History at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa and currently a member of the Centro Linceo Interdisciplinare ‘Beniamino Segre’. Her research interests lie at the intersection of religious and cultural histories of the early modern Hispanic and Mediterranean worlds, with a special attention to the dynamic role played by minorities. Her publications include, among other works, the books Il Vangelo e la spada: L’Inquisizione di Castiglia e i suoi critici, 1460-1598 (Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura, 2003) and Una herejía española: Conversos, alumbrados e Inquisición, 1449-1559 (Marcial Pons, 2010), and the co-edited volumes (with Mercedes García-Arenal) Visiones imperiales y profecía: Roma, España, Nuevo Mundo (Abada, 2018) and From Doubt to Unbelief: Forms of Scepticism in the Iberian World (Legenda, 2019).
