Isabelle Kent is a Junior Research Fellow in Art History at Oriel College, Oxford, and she holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on early modern Europe, particularly Spain and its associated states. Her current project, ‘The Heroic Body as Artifice in Habsburg Spain’, examines visual and literary culture to explore how the male ideal was manipulated, reinvented, and undermined between 1550 and 1660. Her next project will examine humour and wit in Flemish art.
