Established in January 2018, the Reading Group on Iberian History (Medieval & Early Modern) meets three times in term. It aims to be a space where people from all over Oxford who have an interest in the history of Iberia and the global empires of Spain and Portugal can meet and have lively discussions of primary and secondary sources in an informal setting. Attendance is free and open to all: meetings have enjoyed a lot from the contribution of students and scholars working on Iberian medieval or modern history, as well as literature or history of art, who have provided the group with an interdisciplinary approach that has also formed the basis of a one-day graduate workshop which has been organised every year in the month of June.
PDFs of the readings for each session can be obtained by writing to giuseppe.marcocci@history.ox.ac.uk.
