‘Selling Sex in 'the Godly State': A Comparative Study of Lyon, Seville and Mexico City c1550-c.1650’
I am currently studying for my DPhil, focusing on the lives of sex workers in Lyon, Seville and Mexico City c.1550-c.1660. My research interests centre largely around gender and sexuality, and how they have been constructed within colonial frameworks, but I am also interested in migration, race and enslavement, and material culture.
I also coordinate the French Palaeography Group and the Iberian Palaeography Group, both open to all, and I am the administrative coordinator of the History of the Gendered Body Seminar Series here at Oxford.
