I am completing my DPhil which focuses on sexual labour in sixteenth century Lyon, Seville and Mexico City. It is a comparative study of the labour conditions and official responses to women involved in sex work, including prostitution, survival sex work and forced sexual labour. My research interests include gender and sexuality but also race and indigeneity, with a particular interest in Latin American colonialism and how constructions of sexuality were created and enforced on both sides of the Atlantic.
I have published work in a Routledge edited collection entitled ‘Histories of Sex Work Around the World’ and in Women’s History Today, and have broader interests in Iberian and French History.’
